Flood Warning issued June 9 at 9:47AM CDT until June 14 at 4:00AM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Missouri... Missouri River At Miami affecting Carroll, Saline and Chariton Counties. Missouri River at Waverly affecting Carroll, Lafayette and Saline Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Missouri River at Miami. * WHEN...Until late Saturday night. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Low-lying rural areas outside of levees begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - There is no current observed data. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Saturday morning and continue falling to 16.2 feet Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
