Blizzard Warning issued December 07 at 6:05PM AKST until December 08 at 5:00AM AKST by NWS Anchorage Copper River Basin ...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM AKST WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Blizzard conditions occurring. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches. North winds 30 to 35 mph gusting as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...Richardson Highway from Paxson north. * WHEN...Through 5 AM AKST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Northerly winds gusting as high as 50 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow. Plan for hazardous travel conditions with whiteout conditions at times. Winds will begin to diminish and conditions are expected to improve by Wednesday morning. A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions, making travel very hazardous. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.
