Flood Warning issued June 8 at 9:57PM CDT until June 9 at 2:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central Kansas, including the following county, Saline. * WHEN...Until 200 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 957 PM CDT, the public reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Salina, Assaria, Gypsum, New Cambria, Kipp and Salina Airport. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

In east central Kansas, Chase. * WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A complex of storms will bring the potential for severe weather and locally heavy rain to parts of central and east central Kansas tonight. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
