For the Rio Grande...including Columbia Bridge, Laredo...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Rio Grande at Laredo. * WHEN...From this afternoon to Wednesday evening. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 1.8 feet (0.5 meters). - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet (2.1 meters). - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 11.9 feet (3.6 meters) this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet (2.4 meters). - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 11.9 feet (3.6 meters) on 09/26/2008. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Flooding is occurring or is imminent.
