Marine Weather Statement issued June 10 at 12:09AM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD... Tidal Potomac from Key Bridge to Indian Head MD... At 1209 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a front, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This front was located along a line extending from 16 nm west of Back River to 14 nm northwest of Key Bridge to 34 nm west of Alexandria, moving southeast at 35 knots. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 20 to 25 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
