Lower Delaware Bay... Coastal and outer waters from Great Egg Inlet NJ to Fenwick Island DE... * Until 1245 AM EDT. * At 1148 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 7 nm southwest of Slaughter Beach to 15 nm west of Indian River Inlet Bridge to 17 nm northeast of Bivalve, moving east at 45 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Five Fathoms Buoy, Buoy 2fb, Brown Shoal Light, Fenwick Island, Buoy 4fb, Buoy 3fb, Cape Henlopen, Rehoboth Beach, Cape May Point, Indian River Inlet Bridge, Overfalls Shoal, 28- Mile Wreck, Cape May Reef, Bethany Beach, Delaware Lightship Buoy 44009, Buoy 2ms, and Wildwood Reef. Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected. Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water, stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded metal objects.
