Coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach FL out 20 NM... * Until 415 PM EDT. * At 314 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Ocean Ridge to Hillsboro Beach, moving southeast at 5 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Ocean Ridge, Hypoluxo, Fort Lauderdale, Lighthouse Point, Hillsboro Beach, Gulf Stream, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Highland Beach, South Palm Beach, Sea Ranch Lakes, Manalapan, Briny Breezes, Port Everglades, Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, and Palm Beach. Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected. Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects. Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or the National Weather Service. Coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach FL out 20 NM... At 253 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Highland Beach to near Hillsboro Beach to near Fort Lauderdale, moving east at 5 knots. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Report severe weather to the coast guard or nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.
