Flood Advisory issued June 4 at 12:32AM EDT until June 4 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Miami FL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Florida, including the following county, Miami-Dade. * WHEN...Until 200 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1232 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Miami Beach, Surfside, Miami Gardens, North Miami, North Miami Beach, Aventura, Sunny Isles Beach, Miami Shores, Golden Glades, Ojus, Bay Harbor Islands, Biscayne Park, Bal Harbour, Golden Beach, Fiu North Campus and Ives Estates. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Rip Current Statement issued June 3 at 11:13AM EDT until June 5 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Miami FL * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Coastal Broward County and Coastal Miami Dade County. * WHEN...From Thursday morning through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
