Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Special Weather Statement issued July 27 at 6:46PM EDT by NWS Peachtree City GA At 646 PM EDT, a line of strong thunderstorms was along a line extending from Milstead to Panola Mountain State Park to Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, and moving south at 10 mph. HAZARD...40 to 50 mph wind, pea sized hail and frequent cloud to ground lightning. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of light, unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Atlanta, McDonough, Fayetteville, Conyers, Covington, Jonesboro, City of South Fulton, Peachtree City, East Point, Stockbridge, Union City, Forest Park, Riverdale, College Park, Tyrone, Morrow, Lovejoy, Hapeville, Lake City, and Oxford. People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
