Flood Watch issued June 20 at 2:54PM EDT until June 20 at 11:00PM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Georgia, including the following areas, Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, Coffee, Jeff Davis, Northern Ware, Pierce and Wayne. * WHEN...Until 11 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Several areas are already saturated from storms yesterday. Additional showers and thunderstorms expected with amounts of 1 inch, to near 3 to 4 inches. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Special Weather Statement issued June 20 at 3:12PM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL At 311 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Ambrose, moving east at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts around 40 mph, excessive cloud-to-ground lightning, and minor flooding due to heavy rainfall. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Excessive cloud-to-ground lightning is occurring. Minor flooding due to heavy rainfall is possible. Locations impacted include... Broxton, Ambrose, and Pridgen. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
