Southeastern Jackson County in southern Illinois... Union County in southern Illinois... * Until 815 AM CDT. * At 419 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Anna, Jonesboro, Cobden, Dongola, Grand Tower, Ware, Alto Pass and Mill Creek. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Flood Watch issued July 11 at 4:43AM CDT until July 12 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, western Kentucky, and southwest Indiana. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rounds of rainfall are expected this afternoon and evening across portions of the area. An additional 0.75-2 inches of rain is possible.
