Flood Warning issued June 20 at 10:26PM EDT until June 28 at 10:40AM EDT by NWS Indianapolis IN ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Indiana... White River at Petersburg. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana... Illinois... Wabash River at Covington down to Vincennes. White River at Edwardsport...and at Hazleton. .Minor river flooding continues tonight on the Wabash River from Montezuma down to Riverton, with the crest between Terre Haute and Riverton...and on the White River at Edwardsport. Additional heavy rainfall expected late Sunday and Sunday night will lead to rising river stages early next week...with minor flooding also starting on the Wabash at Covington and Vincennes Monday night...and on the White River below Edwardsport on Monday. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Montezuma. * WHEN...Until Sunday, June 28. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Park in southern Montezuma begins to flood. Higher bottomlands begin to flood. Water backs up most local tributaries. River water is at the top of some private levees. Lowest county roads begin to flood. Parke CR 75 W begins to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:45 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 18.4 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:45 PM EDT Saturday was 19.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.3 feet Tuesday evening. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday, June 27. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. In south central Indiana, Brown, Jackson, Lawrence and Monroe. In southeast Indiana, Jennings. In southwest Indiana, Daviess, Greene, Knox, Martin and Sullivan. In west central Indiana, Clay, Fountain, Montgomery, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Tippecanoe, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren. * WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall amounts up to 3 inches are expected with locally higher amounts possible. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
