Flood Watch issued July 12 at 12:45AM EDT until July 12 at 8:00AM EDT by NWS Louisville KY * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Indiana, including the following areas, Clark IN, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison IN, Jefferson IN, Orange, Perry, Scott IN and Washington IN and Kentucky, including the following areas, Breckinridge, Bullitt, Hancock, Henry, Jefferson, Meade, Ohio, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble. * WHEN...Until 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/ this morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms capable of heavy rain are expected overnight until Sunday morning. Already wet soils in some areas will make flooding more susceptible, especially with each additional round of rainfall. Flood Advisory issued July 11 at 11:36PM CDT until July 12 at 2:45AM CDT by NWS Louisville KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of south central Indiana, including the following county, Perry and central Kentucky, including the following counties, Boyle, Breckinridge, Bullitt, Hancock, Hardin, Larue, Marion, Meade, Mercer, Nelson, Ohio and Washington. * WHEN...Until 245 AM CDT /345 AM EDT/. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1136 PM CDT /1236 AM EDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Elizabethtown, Bardstown, Tell City, Lebanon, Springfield, Hardinsburg, Hawesville, Radcliff, Webster and Vine Grove. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
