Southeastern Sedgwick County in south central Kansas... * Until 715 AM CDT. * At 337 AM CDT, emergency management reported flash flooding across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Wichita, Derby, Andover, Haysville, Bel Aire, Mulvane, Rose Hill, Maize, Douglass, Downtown Wichita, Eastborough, Mcconnell Air Force Base, South Wichita, East Wichita, Northeast Wichita, Eisenhower National Airport, West Wichita, Oaklawn, Jabara Airport and Augusta Municipal Airport. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Flood Warning issued June 26 at 3:47AM CDT until June 26 at 7:15AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of south central Kansas, including the following counties, Butler, Harvey, Reno and Sedgwick. * WHEN...Until 715 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 346 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated high rainfall totals due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Wichita, Hutchinson, Derby, Newton, El Dorado, Andover, Haysville, Augusta, Park City, Valley Center, Bel Aire, Goddard, Rose Hill, Maize, Halstead, Sedgwick, Towanda, Colwich, Haven and Burrton. In southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
