Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 8 at 10:23PM CDT until June 8 at 11:00PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS At 1023 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles east of Marion to 5 miles west of Elbing to near Halstead, moving southeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Emergency management reported a 65 mph wind gust at Marion Reservoir. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Newton, Park City, Valley Center, Hesston, Hillsboro, Halstead, Marion, North Newton, Moundridge, Sedgwick, Peabody, Whitewater, Florence, Kechi, Goessel, Potwin, Walton, Elbing, Burns, and Cedar Point. This includes Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 16 and 50. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

In east central Kansas, Chase. * WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A complex of storms will bring the potential for severe weather and locally heavy rain to parts of central and east central Kansas tonight.
