In northeast Kentucky, Johnson and Martin. In south central Kentucky, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley. In southeast Kentucky, Bell, Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Harlan, Jackson, Knott, Knox, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Pike and Wolfe. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms with torrential downpours may move repeatedly over the same locations may result in isolated to scattered instances of flash through late this evening. Special Weather Statement issued June 18 at 8:54AM EDT by NWS Jackson KY At 854 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles northwest of Gum Sulphur to near Shirley to Cressy. Movement was east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Irvine, Mount Vernon, McKee, Boone, Ravenna, Pilot, Donaro, Bummer, Leeco, Robinet, Kimbrell, Earnestville, Wiseman Crossing Station, Climax, Winston, Patsey, Disputanta, Shirley, Alumbaugh, and Evelyn. THIS INCLUDES Interstate 75 in east central Kentucky between mile markers 63 and 72. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 AM EDT for southeastern and east central Kentucky.
