Heat Advisory issued June 17 at 3:01AM EDT until June 21 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV * WHAT...Heat index values up to 103 expected. * WHERE...Portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, and much of central, western, and southwestern West Virginia. * WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
