Rolling Fork River near Boston affecting Hardin and Nelson Counties. .Heavy rain from the past few days will cause the river to rise. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Rolling Fork River near Boston. * WHEN...Until late Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 35.0 feet, Agricultural bottomland is covered. At 40.0 feet, Water begins to cross low spots on some county roads. Some homes in flood plain are cutoff. At 42.0 feet, A few homes and trailers outside of Boston flood. At 43.0 feet, Floodwall begins closing in Lebanon Junction. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:30 AM EDT Monday the stage was 41.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 32.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:30 AM EDT Monday was 41.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 42.0 feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday morning. - Flood stage is 35.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 42.2 feet on 07/08/2013. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car.
