Rolling Fork River near Boston affecting Hardin and Nelson Counties. .Heavy rain from the past few days will cause the river to rise. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Rolling Fork River near Boston. * WHEN...Until late Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 35.0 feet, Agricultural bottomland is covered. At 40.0 feet, Water begins to cross low spots on some county roads. Some homes in flood plain are cutoff. At 42.0 feet, A few homes and trailers outside of Boston flood. At 43.0 feet, Floodwall begins closing in Lebanon Junction. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:30 AM EDT Monday the stage was 41.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 32.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:30 AM EDT Monday was 41.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 42.0 feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday morning. - Flood stage is 35.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 42.2 feet on 07/08/2013. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters, stop, turn around and go another way. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
