Mississippi River At Red River Landing affecting Pointe Coupee, East Baton Rouge and West Feliciana Parishes. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Red River Landing. * WHEN...Until Friday, June 14. * IMPACTS...At 51.0 feet, All river islands along the reach from Red River Landing to Baton Rouge will be inundated. Recreational camps and river bottom farm land will be under water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 49.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 46.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 50.0 feet Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Friday, June 14. - Flood stage is 48.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Air Quality Alert issued June 7 at 3:21PM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality is forecasting an Ozone Advisory Day for East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Livingston, Ascension, Iberville, and Pointe Coupee Parishes, . The Air Quality Index indicates that ozone will be at the Orange level, which is unhealthy for sensitive groups. Increasing ozone levels may cause unhealthy air quality during afternoon hours. Active children and adults, the elderly, and people with respiratory diseases such as asthma should avoid prolonged outdoor exertion. Please take whatever voluntary steps you can to reduce emissions that contribute to ozone formation. Drive less and make sure your automobile is in good working condition. Make sure your gas cap is tight. Wait until after 6 PM to refuel your vehicle and use gas powered lawn equipment.
