Waters from Fenwick Island DE to Chintoteague VA from 20 to 60 NM... * Until 215 AM EDT. * At 1213 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from Bethany Beach to near Ocean City Inlet to 14 nm north of Chincoteague Bay, moving east at 45 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Ocean City Pier, 10 Nm East Of Ocean City Inlet, Assawoman Bay, Ocean City Inlet, Jackspot Reef, Chicken Bone, 10 Nm Se Fenwick Island, African Queen Wreck, Gulf Rambler Wreck, and Fenwick Island. Somerset County in southeastern Maryland... Wicomico County in southeastern Maryland... Worcester County in southeastern Maryland... * Until 330 AM EDT. * At 1229 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 4 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... This front is expected to stall across the region Wednesday with additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms expected Wednesday afternoon.
