Missouri River near Chamois. Missouri River at Hermann. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Missouri River near Chamois. * WHEN...From Monday morning to late Thursday night. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM latest stage was estimated to be near 13.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning to a crest of 20.3 feet early Tuesday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday afternoon. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Flood Watch issued June 7 at 9:51PM CDT until June 8 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS St Louis MO * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of central Missouri, including the following areas, Boone MO, Callaway MO, Cole MO, Moniteau MO and Osage MO. * WHEN...Through Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall are expected across the watch area through Monday morning. Rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is possible with locally higher amounts which could result in flash flooding where soils are already moistening. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
