Kansas... Missouri River at St Joseph affecting Buchanan, Doniphan and Andrew Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Missouri River at St Joseph. * WHEN...From late Friday night to Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Lowland flooding upstream and downstream from St. Joseph occurs. At 19.0 feet, Backwater from the Missouri River floods property along the Nodaway river at Nodaway, Missouri. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:35 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 8.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Saturday morning to a crest of 17.9 feet Saturday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday afternoon. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
