James River at Galena affecting Stone County. For the James River...including Galena, Boaz...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...James River at Galena. * WHEN...From Sunday afternoon to late Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 17.5 feet, Flood waters reach the second window level of the restrooms at the James River Outfitter Canoe Park area. (938.5 FT MSL) * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:15 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 6.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 17.5 feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday morning. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Flood Watch issued June 13 at 8:33AM CDT until June 14 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Springfield MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following areas, Bourbon, Cherokee and Crawford and Missouri, including the following areas, Barry, Barton, Benton, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Greene, Hickory, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, Polk, St. Clair, Stone and Vernon. * WHEN...Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread 2 to 4 inches of rain with locally higher amounts. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
