Flood Advisory issued July 19 at 5:51PM CDT until July 20 at 12:00AM CDT by NWS Springfield MO * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of east central Missouri, including the following county, Phelps. * WHEN...Until midnight CDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 550 PM CDT, The public reported urban and small stream flooding due to heavy rain from a thunderstorm in the advisory area. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Rolla and Northwye. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood deaths occur in vehicles.
