Chandeleur Sound... Lake Borgne... Mississippi Sound... * Until 500 PM CDT. * At 324 PM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts was located 10 nm south of Waveland, moving east at 20 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Cat Island, Bay St. Louis, Waveland, Long Beach, Pass Christian, and Gulfport. Strong winds will be dangerous for boaters or anyone near the water. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Seek shelter or move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Flood Advisory issued June 20 at 3:22PM CDT until June 20 at 6:15PM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southeastern St. Tammany Parish in southeastern Louisiana... Southern Hancock County in southern Mississippi... Southwestern Harrison County in southern Mississippi... * WHEN...Until 615 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 322 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Long Beach, Bay St. Louis, Waveland, Pass Christian, Diamondhead, Shoreline Park, Kiln and Pearlington. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
