Chickasawhay At Leakesville affecting George and Greene Counties. For the Chickasawhay River...including Waynesboro, Leakesville... Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Chickasawhay at Leakesville. * WHEN...From Friday morning until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, flooding of lowlands continues and some roads in low lying areas become cut off by high water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 10.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late Friday morning and continue rising to 22.0 feet Saturday evening. Additional rises are possible thereafter. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Flood Watch issued June 16 at 3:04PM CDT until June 19 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Mobile AL * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Mississippi, including the following counties, George, Greene, Perry, Stone and Wayne. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall will continue through at least Friday afternoon. Additional rainfall amounts of 4 to 7 inches are expected with locally higher amounts, which may cause flash flooding, especially in urban and other poor drainage areas. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
