Heat Advisory issued July 4 at 1:00PM EDT until July 4 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC * WHAT...Heat index values around 105 expected this afternoon and again on Sunday. * WHERE...Cumberland, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Sampson, and Wayne Counties. * WHEN...For the first Heat Advisory, until 8 PM EDT this evening. For the second Heat Advisory, from noon to 8 PM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
