Special Weather Statement issued July 18 at 7:15PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC At 715 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Troy, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Troy, North Carolina Zoo, Seagrove, Star, and Steeds. This includes Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 51 and 67. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for central North Carolina.
