Special Weather Statement issued June 4 at 6:54PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC At 653 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles northeast of York to 10 miles northeast of Monroe. Movement was north at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Gastonia, Charlotte, Monroe, Matthews, and Mint Hill. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
