Southeastern Ocean County in southern New Jersey... East central Burlington County in southern New Jersey... * Until 830 PM EDT. * At 724 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Warren Grove, or 20 miles south of Toms River, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Public. At 707 PM EDT, quarter size hail was reported in Beach Haven West. IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Locations impacted include... Barnegat, Tuckerton, Surf City, Brookville, Bass River State Forest, Warren Grove, Penn State Forest, Beach Haven West, Manahawkin, Ocean Acres, and Waretown. This includes Garden State Parkway between mile markers 56 and 70. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay away from windows. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm, and the storm will affect the beaches. For your safety, immediately move off the beach and seek shelter indoors. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Flash Flood Warning issued July 16 at 7:44PM EDT until July 16 at 8:45PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 744 PM EDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Public reported. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Barnegat, Surf City, Beach Haven West, Manahawkin and Ocean Acres. This includes Garden State Parkway between mile markers 60 and 69. Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
