Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 6 at 11:56AM EDT until June 6 at 6:00PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 277 IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN OHIO THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST OHIO MORGAN PERRY WASHINGTON IN WEST VIRGINIA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA TAYLOR IN NORTHERN WEST VIRGINIA DODDRIDGE HARRISON PLEASANTS TYLER THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BELMONT, BELPRE, BRIDGEPORT, CLARKSBURG, CROOKSVILLE, GRAFTON, MARIETTA, MCCONNELSVILLE, MIDDLEBOURNE, NEW LEXINGTON, PADEN CITY, SISTERSVILLE, SOMERSET, ST. MARYS, STOCKPORT, AND WEST UNION.

Special Weather Statement issued June 6 at 5:15PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV At 514 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Baltimore, or 7 miles north of Lancaster, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... New Lexington, Somerset, Perry State Forest, Thornport, Harbor Hills, Thornville, Junction City, and Glenford. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 PM EDT for southeastern Ohio.
