Flood Advisory issued June 22 at 3:51AM CDT until June 22 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of east central, southeast, and southern Oklahoma, including the following counties, in east central Oklahoma, Pontotoc. In southeast Oklahoma, Johnston. In southern Oklahoma, Carter, Garvin and Murray. * WHEN...Until 700 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 350 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Sulphur, Davis, Wynnewood, Roff, Mill Creek, Dougherty, Hickory, Lake Of The Arbuckles, Turner Falls, Scullin, Hennepin and Pooleville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Special Weather Statement issued June 22 at 3:55AM CDT by NWS Norman OK At 355 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 3 miles southwest of Petrolia to near Dickson. Movement was southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Wichita Falls, Ardmore, Durant, Burkburnett, Sulphur, Madill, Tishomingo, Marietta, Walters, Waurika, Lone Grove, Healdton, Wilson, Comanche, Kingston, Dickson, Ringling, Temple, Mannsville, and Ryan. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
