Flood Advisory issued June 10 at 3:32PM EDT until June 10 at 7:45PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Northwestern Greenville County in upstate South Carolina... Northeastern Pickens County in upstate South Carolina... * WHEN...Until 745 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 330 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - A first round of rainfall over the last hour has contributed to isolated areas of saturated soils and intense runoff. A second round of rainfall will imminently affect some of these areas as well as areas just upstream along Weaver and Burgess Creeks, and worsen conditions over the next 30 to 45 minutes. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Table Rock State Park and Pumpkintown. Roadways along Hwy 11 in the vicinity of Burgess Creek and Weaver Creek may experience nuisance or isolated minor flooding. This could include Saluda Hill Rd, Mulligan Ford Hill Rd, and Pumpkin Town Rd. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
