Dense Smoke Advisory issued July 20 at 3:00PM EDT until July 21 at 10:00AM EDT by NWS Charleston SC * WHAT...Visibility 1 mile or less in dense smoke. * WHERE...Inland Berkeley County. * WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to 10 AM EDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Thick smoke will make travel difficult and could cause respiratory difficulty. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The Horse Island Wildfire burning in the Francis Marion National Forest near Shulerville is producing widespread dense smoke with visibility 1 mile or less across portions of northeast Berkeley County. Visibilities may lower to 1/4 mile or less overnight as winds diminish and the smoke lowers closer to the ground. Heed any evacuation orders from local, state or federal officials. Persons with respiratory illnesses should remain indoors to avoid inhaling smoke.
