Special Weather Statement issued July 12 at 5:59PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC At 559 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles northeast of Union, or 6 miles east of Jonesville, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Union, Monarch Mill, Lockhart, Sharon, Saratt, Adamsburg, and Bullock Creek. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for Upstate South Carolina.
