Southwestern Montgomery County in Middle Tennessee... Stewart County in Middle Tennessee... Houston County in Middle Tennessee... Humphreys County in Middle Tennessee... * Until 615 PM CDT. * At 517 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 8 miles southeast of Big Rock to near Erin to 8 miles southwest of Hurricane Mills, moving north at 10 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Waverly, Camden, Dover, Erin, New Johnsonville, McEwen, Tennessee Ridge, Hurricane Mills, Big Rock, Cumberland City, I-40 Near The Tennessee River, Land Between The Lakes, Houston County Airport, and Indian Mound. This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 136 and 139. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Extreme Heat Warning issued July 2 at 9:43AM CDT until July 3 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Nashville TN * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions will continue through Independence Day with heat index values peaking in the 105 to 112 range. Overnight conditions will be very uncomfortable with lows in the 70s. * WHERE...Middle Tennessee. * WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 8 PM CDT Friday. For the Heat Advisory, from 8 PM Friday to 8 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Movement was north at 5 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Waverly, Camden, Dover, Erin, New Johnsonville, McEwen, Tennessee Ridge, Hurricane Mills, Big Rock, Lobelville, Cumberland City, I-40 Near The Tennessee River, Bucksnort, Houston County Airport, and Indian Mound. This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 136 and 152. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
