Heat Advisory issued July 3 at 8:44AM CDT until July 4 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Nashville TN * WHAT...Dangerously hot and humid conditions. * WHERE...Cumberland Plateau. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Special Weather Statement issued July 3 at 1:55PM CDT by NWS Nashville TN At 154 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles northeast of Spencer. This thunderstorm was nearly stationary. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Cookeville, Crossville, Sparta, Spencer, Pleasant Hill, Doyle, Hamptons Crossroads, Slate Springs, Bakers Crossroads, Virgin Falls State Natural Area, Burgess Falls State Park, Lake Tansi, Fall Creek Falls State Park, and Indian Rock Lake. This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 285 and 297, and between mile markers 304 and 321. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
