Flood Advisory issued July 19 at 9:17PM CDT until July 20 at 12:30AM CDT by NWS Memphis TN * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of West Tennessee, including the following counties, Carroll, Chester, Gibson, Henderson, Madison and Weakley. * WHEN...Until 1230 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 917 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jackson, Milan, Lexington, Henderson, McKenzie, Huntingdon, Fairview, Greenfield, Three Way, Bradford, Atwood, Blue Goose, Bargerton, Parkers Crossroads, Wildersville, Mifflin, Bemis, Jacks Creek, Carroll and Medina. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Heat Advisory issued July 19 at 8:57PM CDT until July 21 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Memphis TN * WHAT...Heat index values up to 114 expected. * WHERE...Portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, Southeast Missouri, and West Tennessee. * WHEN...From 10 AM Monday to 9 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
