Flood Advisory issued June 1 at 1:19PM CDT until June 1 at 4:30PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of north central Texas, including the following counties, Dallas and Tarrant. * WHEN...Until 430 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will likely cause urban and small stream flooding. Low lying and/or poor drainage areas will experience minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Garland, Irving, Grand Prairie, Mesquite, Carrollton, Richardson, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Rowlett, Euless, Bedford, Grapevine, Haltom City, Wylie, Keller, Coppell and Hurst. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Special Weather Statement issued June 1 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX At 1259 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Farmers Branch, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Dallas, Plano, Garland, Irving, Grand Prairie, Mesquite, Carrollton, Richardson, Lewisville, Allen, Rowlett, Wylie, Coppell, The Colony, Farmers Branch, University Park, Sachse, Addison, Highland Park, and Murphy. This includes the following highways... Interstate 35E between mile markers 429 and 451. Interstate 30 between mile markers 48 and 64. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
