Flood Watch issued June 15 at 6:03PM CDT until June 18 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Brownsville TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of Deep South Texas, including the following areas, Brooks, Cameron Island, Coastal Cameron, Coastal Kenedy, Coastal Willacy, Inland Cameron, Inland Kenedy, Inland Willacy, Jim Hogg, Kenedy Island, Northern Hidalgo, Southern Hidalgo, Starr, Willacy Island and Zapata. * WHEN...Through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread heavy rainfall will likely produce totals between 5 to 10 inches, with pockets of 12 inches or more possible. Flood Advisory issued June 15 at 9:04PM CDT until June 15 at 10:15PM CDT by NWS Brownsville TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Southwestern Hidalgo County in deep south Texas... Southeastern Jim Hogg County in deep south Texas... Eastern Starr County in deep south Texas... * WHEN...Until 1015 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 904 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Penitas, Sullivan City, La Joya, Agua Nueva, Los Ebanos, La Grulla, Santa Catarina, La Gloria, San Isidro, Santa Elena, San Rafael Ranch Airport, La Victoria, Alto Bonito, Sam Fordyce Elementary School, Cuevitas, Grulla Middle School, La Joya High School, Jimmy Carter High School, John F Kennedy Elementary School and La Joya City Hall. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
