Flood Warning issued July 16 at 8:11PM CDT until July 17 at 7:26AM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Texas... Guadalupe River Near Spring Branch affecting Comal County. Guadalupe River At Comfort affecting Kendall County. Guadalupe River At Kerrville affecting Kerr County. Guadalupe River at Hunt affecting Kerr County. * WHAT...No flooding is currently forecast. * WHERE...Guadalupe River at Comfort. * WHEN...Until tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding covers low areas of the flood plain flooding lowest roads and bridges. Motorists should enter crossings over the Guadalupe River with care. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:50 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 20.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall to 13.8 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then rise to 15.9 feet late tonight. It will fall to 8.6 feet early Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. Flood Watch issued July 16 at 11:25AM CDT until July 17 at 12:00PM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Bandera, Blanco, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, Llano, Maverick, Medina, Real, Uvalde, Val Verde and Zavala. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...There is a potential for life threatening flooding somewhere in the watch area. Considerable to locally catastrophic flash flooding impacts are likely for the southern Edwards Plateau, Rio Grande, Hill Country, and US 90 corridor west of San Antonio. Excessive runoff will result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Catastrophic impacts are possible downstream of the heaviest rains. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Intense rainfall rates and compounding effects from multiple rounds of storms will maintain a dangerous flash flood threat through Friday morning. Additional rain amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible within the Flood Watch area with isolated amounts up to 8 inches possible in the Rio Grande Plains, southern Edwards Plateau, Hill Country, and US 90 corridor west of San Antonio. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
