Navasota River Near Easterly affecting Leon and Robertson Counties. * WHAT...Major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Navasota River near Easterly. * WHEN...Until Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Major flooding is expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 17.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this evening to a crest of 26.5 feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday morning. - Bankfull stage is 17.0 feet. - Flood stage is 19.0 feet. Do not drive cars through flooded areas. Navasota River near Normangee affecting Grimes, Brazos and Madison Counties. For the Navasota River...including Normangee...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Navasota River near Normangee. * WHEN...From Monday morning to early Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding begins as three channels merge into one below State Highway 21. There is widespread inundation of the floodplain in the vicinity of the gage with the river more than 1.5 miles wide. Long Trussel Road in northeast Brazos County below State Highway 21 becomes inundated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 8.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Monday morning and crest near 19.9 feet late Monday evening. It will then fall below flood stage Thursday afternoon. - Flood stage is 15 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.8 feet on 05/28/2015. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
