Flood Advisory issued June 5 at 5:03PM CDT until June 5 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Brownsville TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...South Central Cameron County in deep south Texas... * WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 503 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Los Fresnos, Rancho Viejo, Cameron Park, Downtown Brownsville, Olmito, Southmost, Brownsville, Lincoln Park, Brownsville Event Center, Vela Middle School, Brownsville Golf Center, Northside Transfer Station, Gallegos Elementary School, Sunrise Mall, Valley Regional Medical Center, Hanna High School, B I S D Administration Building, Brownsville Public Library Main Branch, Pullam Elementary School and Driscoll Childrens Hospital. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
