Nueces River Near Tilden affecting McMullen County. For the Nueces River...including Cotulla, Tilden, Three Rivers... Major flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Nueces River near Tilden. * WHEN...From Friday evening until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 20 ft, major flooding below Cotulla to below Tilden occurs, and cuts off extensive portions of the flood plains, requiring wholesale evacuation of livestock from the area. Roads and bridges near the river flood severely. Hunting cabins, pump jacks, tank batteries, irrigation pumps, and any equipment in low areas near the river flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 2.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 11.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise into flood stage early Saturday morning with a rise into major stage by late Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.8 feet on 08/19/2022. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Heat Advisory issued July 22 at 1:35PM CDT until July 22 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Corpus Christi TX * WHAT...Heat index values up to 112. * WHERE...Bee, Coastal Calhoun, Duval, Goliad, Inland Calhoun, Inland Kleberg, Inland Nueces, Inland Refugio, Inland San Patricio, Jim Wells, La Salle, Live Oak, McMullen, Victoria, and Webb Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
