Flood Advisory issued July 13 at 6:10AM CDT until July 13 at 9:15AM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Central Henderson County in central Texas... Northeastern Navarro County in north central Texas... Southwestern Van Zandt County in north central Texas... * WHEN...Until 915 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 609 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Athens, Gun Barrel City, Canton, Mabank, Malakoff, Tool, Kerens, Eustace, Trinidad, Enchanted Oaks, Caney City, Forest Grove Reservoir, Cedar Creek Reservoir, Purtis Creek State Park, Trinidad Lake, Flag Lake, Richland-Chambers Reservoir, Payne Springs and Log Cabin. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
