San Antonio River at Hwy 72 near Runge affecting Goliad and Karnes Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...San Antonio River at Hwy 72 near Runge. * WHEN...Until Monday afternoon. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 28.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 22.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 2:15 AM CDT Saturday was 28.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 33.7 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday morning. - Flood stage is 27.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 32.9 feet on 05/28/2013. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route over higher ground. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
