Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 12 at 2:45PM EDT until June 12 at 9:00PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 321 IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN WEST VIRGINIA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 8 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA NICHOLAS WEBSTER IN NORTHERN WEST VIRGINIA POCAHONTAS RANDOLPH IN SOUTHERN WEST VIRGINIA FAYETTE MCDOWELL RALEIGH WYOMING THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BECKLEY, COWEN, CRAIGSVILLE, ELKINS, FAYETTEVILLE, GARY, HOLLY RIVER STATE PARK, MARLINTON, MULLENS, OAK HILL, OCEANA, PINEVILLE, RICHWOOD, SUMMERSVILLE, WAR, WEBSTER SPRINGS, AND WELCH.

Special Weather Statement issued June 12 at 5:58PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV Locally heavy rain to the tune of 1 to 2.5 inches has fallen over the last couple of hours. While rainfall is currently exiting the area, some localized high water is possible over the next hour or so in the typical low-lying trouble areas, with any high water receding thereafter. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely.
