Flood Warning issued June 23 at 3:06AM EDT until June 23 at 6:00AM EDT by NWS Charleston WV * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Central Boone County in central West Virginia... Central Logan County in southern West Virginia... * WHEN...Until 600 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 302 AM EDT, The Flash Flood Warning is being replaced with an areal flood warning as flooding remains across the area. Continue to expect flooding through the morning, especially in flood prone locations. Additionally, expect rises and swift flows on area streams and creeks from heavier rain just south of the area. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.3 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Van, Sharples, Blair and Jeffrey. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In southeast West Virginia, Northwest Fayette, Northwest Nicholas, Northwest Raleigh, Southeast Fayette, Southeast Nicholas and Southeast Raleigh. In southern West Virginia, Boone, Logan, McDowell, Mingo and Wyoming. * WHEN...Until 11 AM EDT this morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Locally heavy showers will continue this morning along a slow-moving cold front. Additional rainfall totals up to an inch remain possible in isolated locations.
