Cullman County in north central Alabama... Southern Morgan County in north central Alabama... Southern Marshall County in northeastern Alabama... * Until 830 PM CDT. * At 525 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Albertville, Cullman, Hartselle, Guntersville, Arab, Good Hope, Falkville, Holly Pond, Baldwin, Vinemont, Baileyton, West Point, Eva, Cole Springs, Lacon, Florette, Phelan, Ryan Crossroads, Hulaco and Walter. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Flood Watch issued June 8 at 7:35AM CDT until June 8 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Huntsville AL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall remains in the forecast today. * WHERE...Portions of Alabama, including the following areas, Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan and southern middle Tennessee, including the following areas, Franklin TN, Lincoln and Moore. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Northeast Madison county and most of Jackson County in Alabama received 7-8 inches of rainfall yesterday. Elsewhere, 3-5 inches of rain fell in the watch area. Additional rainfall today will worsen flood conditions. Due to saturated soils, additional rainfall today will be almost entirely runoff.
