Flood Watch issued June 25 at 3:23PM CDT until June 26 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Bureau, Hancock, Henderson, Henry IL, McDonough, Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island and Warren, Iowa, including the following areas, Cedar, Des Moines, Henry IA, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington, and northeast Missouri, including the following areas, Clark and Scotland. * WHEN...Through 7 AM CDT Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Numerous thunderstorms producing very heavy rainfall are expected to develop ahead of a slow moving cold front. Several inches of rain in a short time is possible. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Special Weather Statement issued June 25 at 9:22AM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL Heat and humidity will build today across much of eastern Iowa, northwest and western Illinois, and northeast Missouri. Heat index readings will rise to the upper 90s to around 100 degrees through early this evening. If you plan to spend time outdoors through early this evening, be sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, and take frequent breaks in shaded areas or in an air conditioned building. Also, be sure to look before you lock! Don't leave your pets or kids in parked vehicles.
